I did it!!

I wrote over 50,000 words of my NaNoWriMo novel, in 29 days! This is the first time I have ever completed the challenge with a whole day to spare. And the first time I’ve finished a fiction book that I don’t immediately hate.

It’s a very silly sci-fi/ speculative fiction piece called HopeStreet. Somewhere in there, there’s a herd of blue elephants, a bookstore that grows legs and walks about, virtual children with tails, and an AI that’s obsessed with city planning. Oh and I concreted over Niagara falls. And it’s vaguely framed by constructivist theory that I dragged up from my PhD. days. So, undoubtedly silly, but a long way from the worst thing I have ever written!

It is going to need a sincere amount of tidying up and editing, but I hope it’s worth pursuing. Watch this space!
